Punta Gorda Speedway racing on Saturday nights

Punta Gorda Speedway is located at the Charlotte County Airport at 8655 Piper Road in Punta Gorda, FL.  It is a 3/8 mile banked asphalt speedway that operates mostly on Saturday nights with a full slate of stock car racing and it has sprint cars and karts on special occasions.  They are closed during the months of July and August for summer break.  It is a family-friendly event where you can go for a good time.

The front gate opens at 4:00 p.m. with qualifiers beginning at 6:00 p.m. and the races start between 6:30-7:00 p.m.  The national anthem is played at 8:00 p.m.  Front gate ticket pricing is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $5 for teens. Children 10 years and under are free.  The pit gate pricing is $30.  There are no coolers allowed but they do offer full menu concession stands with great food and low prices.  Pepsi and Budweiser products are sold as well as pork and chicken sandwiches, burgers, chili dogs, fried bologna sandwiches and more.

The entrance to the speedway has 70 palm trees that were planted to give it a Florida look.  There is a grassy area where you can sit and watch the action in your lawn chairs.  It is serviced by a pest control company to get rid of those pesky ants.  Restrooms are also available on site.
